7 day window pretty conservative?

This past Sunday was a warm, sunny day, so I sprayed some SPI epoxy on my door jambs, and interior sheet metal.

Monday was supposed to be a nice day too, so I was planning to top coat them. But, we are having our famous "May gray" here in San Diego, and it stayed cloudy, cool, and muggy all day long, so I wasn't willing to take a risk.

Today was supposed to clear up by about 10, so I took a half day off work, but now I'm sitting here with my thumb up my butt, with cloudy, cool weather.....still not taking the risk.

My question is, am I pushing my luck by waiting until Saturday to top coat my panels. That puts me at 6 days, which is further than I've ever pushed it out. Would I be pushing my luck by top coating on Saturday?

Thanks

I should mention the car has been outside, under a cover, and under a shade tent in weather that had been barely reaching the low 70's the last few days.

not worth the gamble. use a reduced coat as sealer before you base it .

Sanded/scuffed first?

If so, can I scuff with Scotch pads, because there are a lot of nooks and crannies that I can't sand very well.

7 day window if scuffed will be good for things like primer to go over the epoxy but never to base. base should go directly on epoxy that is no more than 24 hrs old in summer or 48 in winter. ALWAYS shoot a reduced thin coat of epoxy as a quick sealer coat under you base if over 24/48hrs.

What would be a sufficient level of scuffing? I've seen a few mentions or red and gray Scotch pads....is that aggressive enough?
