I am certainly in favor of that, Bob. So... I'll mix up some epoxy 1:1:1, let it sweat in (induce) for an hour and spray today. Then I can follow with base coat after 15 - 20 minutes? Spray clear Tomorrow or Monday?

good plan, letting the base set overnight or till Monday is good-the clear cures so much better not having to fight with solvent coming out of the base, you'll also see maximum gloss retention.

Here she is after 1 coat of SPI epoxy mixed 1:1:1, followed by 3 coats of base coat in the original dark turqouise metallic

Applied the Universal clear today. 3 coats. Exceptional gloss. Easy to apply at 78 degree booth temp. I must say I was very surprised. It appears to be very very thin on mixing. I was leery of getting it too wet at the beginning. I was afraid it was going to run off onto the floor. It dries VERY fast but sprays like glass. For most shops this would be finished but, cannot wait to see how itlooks buffed! Think I will need to play with pressures some more but, still getting use to the Iwata, which is an exceptional gun. I get a demo SATA tomorrow. Then I will try the Tekna...

How long should I wait to wet sand and buff. I typically hit them with 1500, them 3000, them buff. I use 3M Finesse sytem

When looking for the best results I like to let it cure some before buffing, just cuts better and polishes better when it's cured up IMO. If you can put it in the sun for a day or two that would be good. I often let stuff set for a week before buffing. Production work is different, give it some heat cycles and buff asap.

Been meaning to put this up. Sorry for the delay.

How she sits now. Still have not buffed her. Putting interior in first...

I always let my clear sit for a week or two before sanding and buffing on my resto jobs.. usually let it sit a week then sand then sit another week..
