57 Chevy truck

I decided I needed another project for paint practice. What was I thinking? Where do I start? :) It is going to get a 5.3L/4L60E, and maybe air ride. It is already set up for air ride up front, and the rear is a mess. I may go to 4-link and coil overs because I don't want to hassle with raising the bed floor and hiding the air tank and compressor. Needs the typical rust repair on the cab corners, and fenders. But, the floors and cowl are solid.

camaro subframe? Looks solid compared to what we find around this area.

Finally laid down some SPI, so it's time for an update. I spent the last year and a half fixing this mess of a frame. I re-did the front clip, and built a new back-half with a C4 Corvette rear end. I have been in a mad dash the last two months trying to get the frame in epoxy before it gets too cold for the winter. Got two coats done yesterday. Sanding out the orange peel and dust today, then 3rd coat this afternoon. I'm afraid to see my electric bill after trying to keep the heat on the last couple days.

Thanks.
Finished up painting the frame. 3 coats of epoxy. I wanted to smooth it out with filler and paint some more coats. But, my family talked me out of it since it's not a show truck and no one will see the frame. I have to draw the line somewhere, or I'd spend another month making it look perfect. You can still see a lot of the grinder marks, oh well. That's why this is my "for practice" project. I learned a lot about how the epoxy sprays, and the importance of keeping a wet edge.

Powder coated the dog bone brackets with 55% gloss black. It is way shinier than the rest of the frame. The steel I used for these had quite a bit of texture, so that doesn't match either.

Thanks! Now I just have to figure out how to lay down a glamour coat of paint.

Next, I added bear claw latches and electric locks to the doors.

Last month, I finally got back to working on the truck. I stripped the hood, doors, & fenders. And coated with 2 coats epoxy.

Started some filler work. I'm embarrassed to show these pics. Way more filler than I thought there was going to be. (The other side is way worse).

And now you're all caught up to last week.
