3M Sanding Film revisited

that link just shows a product page. am i missing something?

I read the page and it says to use the film wet. maybe that is why so many get pig tails ?

Only thing i see on the page is the clearcoat sanding discs. Those are trizact and supposed to be wet.

i have been using hook-it wet for ever. i believe if you keep the panel and paper rinsed you don't get pig tails. i think most come from heat build up and melts the dust together somewhat . my water wand is filtered and i keep it rinsed well.
i kinda like the dry way like jim does but the dust just kills me.

Shine, with the finishing film, when you used it dry were you using paper with the holes? I know the dust is bad if you use the paper with holes then the sander blows it around the shop. The discs i have always used were solid and the dust just lays there on the panel.

sof, i looked at that page. yes those are not the finishing film. thats trizact which is supposed to be wet or atleast damp to work. they also have the foam trizact discs in 1000 grit as well. they are called blending discs.

shine since you are wetsanding, have you tried the 3m trizact clearcoat sanding discs? same ones as in the link posted. if you dont have a dirt issue they might work for you really well. they damn near last forever. they are not on a foam backing. they are a film.
