3100 Speed Clear - More than 2 coats?

yes i do 4. i basically spray 2 coats like your supposed to then i will let it sit 20-30 then do it again. you need to use a slower activator and i also reduce it 10%. i will say that here in nj during the summer, there is about a 3-4 month window where i cannot do it. the heat and especially humidity cause solvent pop issues. i have to go back to universal during that time. maybe a longer flash like an hour would make a difference. i dont know.

Slow reducer? How long after that 4th coat are you handling it?

Well i always use fast. I have not tried slow to see if that ever helps with the pop on those summer months. I always let it sit overnight. Typically it doesnt get sanded and buffed for a min of 14hrs.

Yes 860. I use med activator in winter and slow when it warms up a bit. Its a fast clear even with slow act so to me fast red seems appropriate.

Can you not let it flash for 3-5 mins between coats 1-2 & 2-3 with this clear or haven't tried that process?

This clear is a very strange animal. Its 2 coats back to back no flash. Do it any other way and you will have problems. If there was ever a clear that you need to follow the tds on….this is it

I need to order some myself. Esp seeing as I do a lot of small jobs. And I’m in the frigid north. I’ve used speed clears in the past, they had the same 2 coat back to back procedure. Transtar is one I remember, shot a door with it. Looked absolutely perfect the night I shot it. Next day when I came in not so much. Lots of dieback.
