2K urethane cure time?

How long does it take High Build 2K to fully cure to the point where it isn't self healing and fully stable?

If that's the case...how does it not show defects in whatever it is top coated? Just overthinking things as usual.

Scratches showing up in urethane primer down the road is common. This is why you don’t cover 80 grit scratches with 2k urethane.

Anyway, hopefully one of the experts will weigh in. Just giving my thoughts.

The key is to give each coat adequate time to flash off before piling more on.
I have covered 80 grit scratches with no issues but I do take stated flash times as minimums. Also use guide coat when sanding the primer.

I'm too slow to worry about flash times being too short! The car has been sanded to 180-220 and I'm getting ready to cover it with some epoxy. The high build was sprayed 5 1/2 weeks ago.

The self healing aspect gets less over time. When I'm ready to topcoat I will go over everything again with a grey 3M scotchbrite pad and sanding paste. (Presta scuff-stuff for example). That takes care of any self healing and ensures everything is clean and scuffed.
