On an interior fiberglass/ filler part that will never see daylight, can I skip the epoxy and go strait to high build ? I see the car stereo guys doing it and they say it works fine... But their stereo guys, not painters. Thx

Sure you can BUT................... for best results use the epoxy first. Also other factors here the filler parts painted or raw plastic or glass? Interiors do get uv rays

Raw...I make them from moulds. I'm not trying to cheap out on materials, just time. They're moulded in poly glass, finished with filler and sanded to 220p

yes you can do it. i have done it many times on fiberglass parts that i made and pulled from molds and they were exterior. adhesion is prob a little better with epoxy but 2k holds great to sanded gelcoat. sand you gelcoat with something like 150-220. dont go finer than that

Thanks guys...I'll just shoot turbo on them now..epoxy just adds a day, turbo should be good in just a few hours.

2nd best if not epoxy in my opinion is evercoat g-2 or similar for 1st coats. It'll give you a good high build.
