I had planned to have the paint completed on my truck over the summer but a combination of demands on my schedule have left me with only the cab and doors in primer ready for base and clear. My garage is dry but unheated so I can't spray in cold weather. Am I better off leaving it in 2K over the winter or getting the cab, doors, front fenders and hood based and cleared then shooting the back half of the truck in the spring? Does 2k do ok sitting over the winter? I think I am going to run out of good weather before I can get it all done.

Mine has been in epoxy for awhile now. Stays in, but does go out on nice days, sorta like a dog I guess!

or am I better off getting a coat or 2 of epoxy over the 2k so all I have to do is wetsand and base in the spring??

Definately not trying to overrule Barry, but would like to point something out. If the garage is just for storage, and you will not be doing anything else in there, then either would be good. If there is a chance you may be doing other stuff in there, I would think epoixy would be best. The reasoning behind that answer is this. A lot of people would do no body work or paint in the winter, when it is cold. They may, however, do other stuff when time permits, like maintenance or repairs on other stuff. There the problem comes in. If you spray anything like WD40 or a silicone spray in there, and it settles on 2K primer, you could be in big hurts. The epoxy would prevent the stuff from soaking in, like it would with 2K.

Always looking for all things that can, and will go wrong on a project for me.
