My Z is about 95% complete and this was the first test run away from the garage. I am sure that I could not have got this far without the help I received from Barry and all the folks on this forum who made suggestions. This was my first paint job and a true poor boy garage effort...I know that it would never stand up to close scrutiny fromn you pros, but as 68 Coronet told me, "sometimes good enough is good enough"! It turns heads plus it runs like a scalded dog!!

This was black epoxy, buff 2K primer, SPI red base and 8 coats of Universal clear...minus what I sanded off as orange peel.

I sincerely appreciate the help!!

I sure love those cars. I've had a 280 and a 260 and had to sell both of them. Someday I hope to find a 240 and fix it up. What do you have under the hood?

Glad it worked out as it does look good and 68 coronet is a 100% right!

Crashtech....it has an L28 from an '82 280Z, bored .0040 with forged pistons, fuel injection, turbo, and intercooler hooked to a 5 speed gearbox. I only run a mild boost to stay away from those pesky high speed driving awards that the highway patrol like to give out.

That's got to be a blast to drive. I feel a real connection to these old machines that the new ones just don't do for me.

Looks good! The next project will go better now that your feet are wet.
