1968 Mustang Coupe Restomod

I spent today adding fiberglass to the ends of the front end so it will mount to the holes in the fender where the stock valance bolts. It is now held in place with 8 bolts in the original holes.

Rusty, you should send that back to the supplier so they can correct their mold!

I've got way to much time in it to let someone else make all the profit.

It still won't fit a Mustang with stock headlight buckets you have to cut off the mounting tabs and also reshape them before it will bolt up.

Hey, I think that gap was off by 1/128" from end to end. LOL
Really looks like it came that way from the factory (actually better than that) very nice work.

I have that exact same daunting task ahead of me. I am really curious how/why the aluminium on the Ford engines is so corroded. 1 year old engines look like they have been in a marine bilge for 10 years.
I really would like to have mine look as good as well cast aluminium that hasnt had a lot of caustic all over it.

Going to keep an eye on how Rusty makes eye candy out of that cammer.

As with so many of the projects you post pictures of, it is your attention payed to the smaller details that makes the finished product so outstanding :2 thumbs up

This is really a good time to change those exhaust manifold studs that are common to corrode and break on those engines, they offer stainless replacements.

Thanks for the tip Bob

I wanted a plain grille for the Coupe so I ordered a new Dynacorn grille and drilled out the rivets that held the uprights.

Be sure and check out the June 2012 issue of Modified Mustangs & Fords magazine because the Coupe and Fairlane will be on the cover. This is the first time a car not finished is on the cover.
