Our customer has owned this for a long time and replaced the floor pans and cowl repair himself than he gave us the project. We did the rust repair and painted a couple of years ago and than he put it together. We got it back adjusted a few things and touched up a few spots and than he took it to a Mustang and Ford show with about 150 cars and got 1st place in his class.

This is what we started with there was a lot of fiberglass mat hiding the rust

After a lot of rust repair, priming a lot, block sanding forever, painting, wet sanding and buffing.

That thing looks great. Never seen a 67 with 68 quarters on it, or atleast without the fake vents. Last one I did we installed the fake scoups on the side.

Brian did all the metal fabrication on this car. It was the first time he used a mig welder and made patch panels.

I didn't catch that but now that you mention it the 67s did have those vent style side scoops. It was a one year only thing IIRC.

Those were built back when there were a lot of "one year only" things. The 68 had a fake vent that was glued on, and if I remember correctly they were plastic. Usually when you buy a repro quarter panel they come for the 68 version. You have to cut out the hole for the 67 vents. Since the only other difference was the reflector at the rear, they only make that version of the quarter, and let the customer modify if needed.

The way the rest of that thing came out, most people would be so busy admiring the craftsmanship to notice.

I'm with Aaron that your eyes are drawn to the quality of the workmanship rather than the details of the car itself.
Great job as usual.

Looks fantastic Rusty.. I expect no less from you guys bro!!

Rusty did i notice right that you got rid of the drip rails??? gives it a nice clean look. I sectioned my drip rails on the mustang of mine and cougar of my dads since they had some rotten spots in them. Looks great keep up the good work.

Jeff

beautiful job! how does that affect water runoff when the rails are removed? Probably the owner wont drive it in the rain anyways but I'm curious as I thought about doing that on my datsun project but chickened out.

Thanks, Evan
