when I got this car it was sitting on a poorly restored frame. The body was finished in Sebring Silver bc/cc

I am nearing the end of a complete frame off restoration. My apologies to any NCRS purists...Stenciling & body mounts 2.jpg

got some scratches on her here and there so, I decided to repaint it. We were soda blasting the '64 so, I decided to have this one soda blasted too. Big mistake...

The high build primer that was used on the previous paint job was hard as a rock. So difficult to cut, the removal was quite inadequate. Some places, where the blaster paused were deeply scared. I ended up stripping most of it by hand with the long board and various blocks. This is how she sits today

I will block her one more time with 150. Most of the gray will be gone. It is very hard, difficult to sand and smells a bit like vinegar when sanded.

At any rate, my plan is to apply 3 coats of epoxy and block again to find low spots. I will decide on high build after that. May not be necessary. I will do the 64 at the same time

Yeah, SOF... I cant seem to get back in to resize my signature picture. Old age has reduced me to techno dummy. I cant keep up with this stuff

Need to get some SPI clear and that bad boy soon

Nice! I see the 64 has the raised pads on the doors, so it must be a very early production car. My father has a daytona blue 64 coupe that was built in October of 1963 and it had the raised pads as well. I say had because a trailer came off of a car hitch back in the nineties and plowed into the original driver's door. We couldn't locate another door with a raised pad, so we changed them to the later style doors without the raised pads.

Well, isn't that something, my split window is an October car. Ill have to look at the actual VIN to see what the production number is.

The frame restored, then completed. Everything rebuilt or replaced with correct stuff. Over restored, as is my custom...

I have a couple AMXs... one of each year 2 seater. That is my '68. Known as LA AMX. It is a low mileage 343, auto, ac, disc brake GO Pack car from LA. I will start a thread on it soon.

Waaaay too many projects

Sweet! I look forward to seeing more on the X's
I've got one of each year also, a '68 390 4 speed, a '69 343 auto, and a '70 390 4 speed.
They all need some love though...
