1966 Valiant for the Other Daughter....

AC parts blasted and painted with SPI epoxy primer. Also got a 273 pan to make sure the 360 pan Will clear the steering. You can see where I have to do some body work to get a recess in it. The Compressor is a bit grubby...

I some one used transmission fluid in the AC system... good grief... The main bearing has some rust pits in the race. I have a NOS crank and I have an O'Reilly's rebuild that I have hated because the case is not a OEM MOPAR. I may gut that one for parts to put in this case..

Prepped the engine parts with epoxy so when my machine shop guy paints it Mopar Red it can all be red and have a chance of sticking on the aluminum.... Ended up needed a bit of body work on the Mancini mid sump 360 oil pan. A buddy in Maricopa let me borrow a 273 pan to use as a gauge.. I will take these parts to the machine shop Friday and they are ready to go. Do you like the Bruce Toth early timing pointers! Just contact him...

Mocking up the factory AC to make sure it all is correct. I have a beat up factory condenser but after the Duster AC fight I am going to install a parallel coil to see if I can solve the high pressures on hot day problems.

Jim, how high does psi get on hot days?
Electric fan makes huge difference when sitting still. Epoxy on condenser fins must hurt a lot too.
My 91 & 93 Caddys in diagnostic mode show high & low side. Learned how much psi varies when still, moving, parked facing wall ect. Get a long hose & take a ride with gauges hooked up for fun.

Great work & detail sir. Top notch.

So high driving down the road that the clutch won't reengage, it slips... Starts to get bad once it get over 90F

Whoa. Put a gauge on it asap. Always undercharge a bit when swapping 12 for 134.
I like 40psi on low side idle, give or take 5. Curious what your high side is.
I love that compressor. People must comment on it.
Consider a electric fan on condenser. Test with a box fan the difference it makes on psi.

Edit- 40-45psi. 35 too low, will click out when driving.

Can never get it above 15 on the Duster... the Coronet works GREAT and it runs about 34/190PSI. I have seen the Duster over 250 with 15 on the low side. I have changed out virtually everything with new aftermarket and NOS... zero change.

Dr Diff with some new custom 8.25" axles to the rescue. The originals one side had some pitting and galling. With the amount I have in this why would you go cheap here. Fixed for as long as I own this car. Don't forget to put locktite on the bolt holding the spyder gears in. Got a lot of the bling back from Capital Metal in Tucson.. They do beautiful work....

Tomorrow going to get the tires balanced and inflated (wide rims on minimal width tires can be tricky to get inflated). 225/60/15 on 8" width 4.5" backspacing rear; 195/60/15 7" width 3.75" backspacing (manual steering). Correct hardware on the shocks and someone has a plethora of A-Bodies...

Jim, i think ya nailed the color. Will make people's eyes open :)

15/250 is head scratcher. Major restriction in low side. Orifice is 1st thought. Needs to pass more, too small or clog.
