I have a friend that has a Sata nr 2000 hvlp 1.3 that he wants to sell me, I don't need the gun but for the price I think it is a good deal. He said I could have it for $90.00, it needs cleaned but other than that maybe I can use it for epoxy and sealer? Your opinions are appreciated.

Just to add JC, that is the same gun I used for 15+ years to spray base at work. Day in, day out. It was my go to gun doing collision. There are no gaskets to wear out in that gun. Take it apart and look at the needle contact pad. If you see a lot of wear there it's not a good sign but it will still spray decent. Also check that the holes in the nozzle are not wallowed out from someone using something metallic to clean them if they got plugged. You can still find some parts for them on Ebay (they are approaching 25 years old) but in reality the only things that you would ever need to replace would be the needle/ nozzle set and then only if extremely worn or abused. For $90 it's definitely worth taking a chance.

I appreciate your advice here Chris, he bought the gun new years ago and said he did'nt like the way it sprayed clear. I am going to get it and try it out, the price is right and I am wanting to see how it sprays.

Newbie painter here and took Chris's advice and bought a used Sata NR2000 off ebay for first time ever 2 different base jobs. Gun worked super (Thanks again Chris)! Matter of fact, this gun with base worked with the least amount of problems compared to the rest of the 2 paint jobs steps (actually base with this gun went great first time out). I think I paid double that on ebay for my Sata NR2000 so definitely worth $90. If you decide you do not like it, I will buy or sell here. Hope this helps. Makes me wonder why Sata quit making the 2000NR???
