What do others use for air hoses?

Bob, does your shaker have an air control valve, I don't see one?
Yes, it does but the base hides it in this shot. It's a Harbor Freight shaker.

I can't really justify spending $100 for the amount of painting I do but it cuts down on the time I spend with a stir stick and I have a pretty large lazy streak.

Last Sunday Im getting ready to paint and the end of the hose shot out, I didn't have any hose clamps so I went to the "spare" hose that someone saved for reason. Well it had a blow out half way down and some other issues. I went inside searched google for a minute or so and then ordered one those green zillahoses. I'm tired of these cheap ones that some how just show up at the house.

Just a bit off topic but related. There was discussion about what type of system to use to connect a remote air compressor to a shop. PVC was discussed as well as galv and copper. I was looking at the Flexzilla website and saw they have 5/8" garden hose that has a working rating of 150 psi and burst pressure of 500. It appears to be the same material their air hose is made of. A 100ft length is quite reasonably priced around $70 . This might be a good option for running an inexpensive live that wont rust or corrode or break the wallet.

Bob, Thanks for the pics. Anybody looking for the Flexzilla hoses, best price I could find is at Zoro tools. Free shipping on order over $50. Its kinda hard to navigate through their menus, but if you get the legacy part # and do a search they will come up.

Also I do believe the whips are the way to go. It is something I would like to start doing a little at a time due to cost. I have always used a Milton swivel on my air hose. It really feels weird to use a hose without one. I never thought about a flow rate, but looking inside of one, they look like they could be restrictive although I've never really had a problem with them. What do you guys think about them.

Just went to the Zoro site and ordered 2 50'x3/8"id hoses with brass fittings. just over $50 for both. I had never seen the flexzilla hose with the normal brass ends, just with the large aluminum ends which are both cumbersome and expensive.

Thanks for the tip!

Your welcome. I purchased a whip hose a few weeks ago for my air reel. Best price I could find. Got to looking at their hose prices and realized it was a good deal. I purchased two 3/8 hoses, 25ft and 50, a set of safety googles, and with a 5 dollar off coupon, total was 45 shipped. I have started shopping around quite a bit. The prices on stuff is all over the place anymore. EBay used to have the best prices, but not so much now, if I can find it local its cheaper than eBay.

A bit of a short notice, but today only you can take 17% off at the Zoro site.

Enter code POTOGOLD when checking out.

Do any of y'all use there quick connect sets that legacy make? I just finished my copper piping cooling system. I bought a 50' flexzilla and two of there x-Flo female connectors. I haven't tried them out yet, they claim 25% more flow.

I don't use the legacy's but I have been using the prevost high flow fittings and quick connect couples for 10 years now. Only had to replace 1 or 2 cause the button would start sticking. Not bad considering there are about 10 hoses with them on around the shop.

Combine them with the flexilla and your hose system becomes practically maintenance free......

Just got a Flexzilla 3/8 x 50' hose. So far I am very pleased.
Best price I found was Zoro.com $26.78 shipped if I remember correctly.

The one for the paint booth is a Gates non-gassing to feed the hood and spray gun whip. The others are Goodyear IIRC.
