u-pol flyweight gold

Tried some u-pol flyweight gold and it sands and spreads a lot easier to me than rage gold and half the price but it didn't seem as hard as the rage gold the next day. I have never had a problem with rage gold and don't like to change things that work but $50.00 a gallon is getting ridiculous. Anyone ever used the flyweight gold?

That gallon is the size of the can, the contents are only 3 liters. What a rip off. I think most fillers are sold that way now.

You're right their not full. Now that makes it seem more expensive than before. Less for more!

Yeah the Marson ...uh I mean 3M Platinum is 3 liters in a gallon can. The top of the filler is over 2 inches below the top of the can when you first open it up.
It does make you feel like you did not get all that you paid for.

Kinda like the price of R410 refrigerant compared to R22 until I realized its 25lbs instead of 30lbs.:)

I use about 2-3 "gallon" cans a year at my shop, so price does not matter, only quality. Currently I use "Marson" Platinum, but use Evercoat products like 416 and 421 for thinner fills and pinholes.

Just bought a can of Rage extreme and almost went into cardiac arrest when I looked at the bill later at home....$74 for three fricken liters! When this stuff came out it was $29 for four quarts. Hope and change!

My local paint supplier has been pushing u-pol, even had a paint rep come and demo products. Trying the flyweight gold and so far it sands a lot easier than rage gold and is creamier and spreads better but I don't know if its as good in the long run. I have no complaints with rage gold except price, I can get the flyweight gold for about $26.00.I guess its like I heard chip foose say when asked how he cleaned buffing pads, he said when you're doing a 100,000 dollar paint job does it matter how much a pad cost just use a new one. I don't like to change something if it works but sometimes you have to try something new. The last rage gold I bought was $52.00,for $74.00 it better sand it's self.
