Trying Production Clear (First SPI Product) what's the spray/sand/buff schedule?

I am spraying production clear for the first time (Just ordered it today). I build solid body electrics and have some car touchup work to do. I'm not planning to sand the car's finish but I level sand buff and polish every single instrument.

Will this work?
-sand the wood to 180
-spray a wash coat of production clear

-sand off the raised grain 1 hour after the wash coat
-spray 2 wet seal coats with 30-60 minutes between coats
-level sand 220 grit after 2-3 hours

base coat

-spray 3 wet clears 30-60 minutes apart
-Cure overnight
-Wet sand to 800 to level, 1200, 1500
-Buff/Polish

let it hang for a week to harden (I don't like handling scratches or printing from resting the finished part on something)

This product is new to me so I'd love any pointers or advice!

I have little experience in refinishing wood. Are your basecoats transparent candies? The times between spraying and sanding your clear prior to basecoat seem rather short, is this how you have handled urethane clears on wood in the past? Also, in automotive work we do not apply basecoat over 220 scratches, the coarsest I have heard of is 320 dry, but most use 600-800 wet, lower for solid colors, higher for micas and metallics.
