I want to basically be able to bolt these headlight covers onto this fibergalss front end. I figure I will need to epoxy the insert in. I want to use a small bolt 8-32 is possible. Anyone do anything like this before?

Here are some pics of what I am talking about. There is a small shoulder on the front that I have to work with so the insert cant be too big. This really isnt holding anytype of load

What epoxy would you suggest? front 2.jpg

Nutserts should work for that, and you could put some epoxy in the hole when you install them. Panel bond would work.

I don't think the nutsert could be installed in the conventional way with the setting tool. maybe grinding some flats into the barrel portion of the nutserts before gluing them in would keep them from spinning later if the covers need to be removed down the road.

I bought some 8/32 nut inserts from grainger. gonna give that a shot. These covers will be removed maybe once a decade, lol

Use a thin washer on the backside of the nutsert and I bet it'll work, Or back up the flange with a rigid epoxy and drill and tap right through the glass and epoxy, or bond a strip of steel on the backside and use machine screws.
