Spray Day What to have on hand

OK, although the car is still stored with an epoxy coat I am starting to buy what I will need come spray day.

So far I have:

- 5hp vertical tank Ingersall rand compressor
- Motorguard 1/2" filter
- water trap/filter
- Lph 400LV 1.4
- Purple cap
- various new mixing cups
- metal stir stix
- Tape and paper
- wet paper up to 1000
- bag of rags
- SPI waterborne w&g remover
- SPI solvent based w&g remover

Anticipated in needing

- tack rags
- SPI universal
- SPI intercoat or more epoxy
- Buffer/polisher and compounds
- small filter at the gun?
- full face respirator
- lint free suit
- DB5 medium blue metallic base (sikkens?)
- I have a bundle of 2X4's that I am building a booth out of in my garage. It will be
covered in plastic with additional lighting high and low. Filtered air in high and out
low.
- new air line as my old one is well used

Any other things I should get. Any recommendation on buffers, extra filters or any of my other needs would be greatly appreciated.

You forgot the absolute most important thing there..

A couple shots of Bourbon b4 you start... Think Im kidding dont you..

Seems the less tense you are, the less concerned of the outcome, the nicer the job you will turn out.. Im serious..

The more you worry and fret over a job your getting ready to shoot, seems like you have a ton of problems once you start spraying.. I know I am not alone in this..

Im not advocating you get drunk, or even drink if you dont believe in drinking, Im simply saying, I bet it would go easier for you then lol

Not that I ever needed to have a reason, but that does sound like good advice. Their is no doubt that I will be nervous, my previous painting was work trucks with single stage so this is all new.

Bourbon or beer. Its like the Sata-Iwata discussion. Better have some of both just to be sure. Funny thing about beer is I always have had a few when I am done painting a vehicle. I am not a beer drinker. Its about the only time

Busch Light and AC/DC work well for me usually. Have a dirt picker, micro tweezers, and some 1000 grit for trash control between coats and during clear. Mask the day before and give yourself a whole day for just the spraying part-no rushing and less stress. And leave a piss before you start spraying.

i keep toothpicks in the booth. get one of those craters you can put a drop in it and go on ..

SPI Reducer
5 gallon bucket of cleaner grade Lacquer thinner (unless you have a spray gun cleaner)
1 Box of Raven disposable gloves

Ok, I have most of these then. I am going to place my order for my SPI materials then. Is their any issue with them sitting un-opened for a month. I just want to slowly have everything I need and am trying to get the main stuff that needs ordering and shipping first.

test panels, and more test panels (for spray pattern and viscosity i use white poster paper that i have a lot of thats get thrown away anyway) powderless gloves. music, beer, a lot of patience, and the ability to laugh at yourself and walk away, take a break, when you make a mistake. the ability to not make
dont drip sweat from yourself or out of mask on project :)

a small mistake bigger is a good trait! lets get past base and clear before discussing finishing buffing...

great idea...i use my xacto knife/blade... i also have long tweezers to pick a bug or piece dust out if needed and possible...
