Smooth transition using Raptor or other like products

I'll be using the Raptor liner on my wheel well lips and coming out 1-2" on body of truck. I know typically people just mask off where they want the "bed liner" coating to stop. I was trying to replicate more of the OEM look chevy has. The rock guard applied from the factory about 6" up from the bottom definitely has a smooth transition to paint. Just curious if anyone has had any luck using the folded tape method or 3M offers a smooth transition tape. There could be other methods that I'm unfamiliar with and looking for any suggestions or methods others have used. Appreciate the feedback.

The folded tape or door jamb foam tape will soften the line, but it will be hard to get it perfectly straight. What about a layer of tape for every coat you plan on giving it at the edge. Only, the first layer put down would need to be at the final edge, then the next 2 or 3 layers will need to be about 1/8" in from the last one. Then spray a coat, remove one layer of tape, spray another coat, remove the next layer. This would give it a mini stair step type edge, getting thinner as it gets to the edge of the Raptor.

Agree with you. This was another option I was thinking. This method is probably the safer bet. Similar to wait you said I’m still going to leave a line so it might as well be straight as possible
