Regular 2K primer question

Is it normal for the 2K primer to have a little texture when it dries? I ask because I have yet to get it to go smoothly. I am spraying with a 1.8 tip, fan around 90% open , fluid about 2 3/4 open and pressure at the gun around 28 psi.
 
It shouldn't have orange peel, but it won't go on slick either. It will have a little bit of a rough feel to it. Don't worry too much about surface finish though, you are going to sand it anyway. Just observe flash times and don't try to spray it too wet trying to fill imperfections. Meaning don't hose it on or double coat it. Observe your flash times and spray more coats instead.
 
Thanks Chris, I have not double coated or hosed it on. As for flash time I give it 3 to 5 min, temps in my shop are close to 90 when I spray it.
 
Complete newbie here. I used about the same gun settings as you. I definitely had texture. Sands like a dream..I reduced final coats..My first coat definitely had a rough feel to it as well
 
As mentioned it will never be smooth, but as you get closer to the lot life it will start to get grainier as it sprays.
