Pneumatic oil

Does Pneumatic oil for lets say a DA or Orbital sander cause fisheyes? If so what is everyone using in their air tools to avoid that? Will wiping the panel down with wax and grease remover clean it good enough to not have to worry about it?

I think any oil is going to cause fisheyes. 700 WGR will get it. I always clean twice. One degreasing application isn’t always sufficient when you look at how clean your rag is. And if you’re really nervous follow up with 710.

Spray it on to lift the oil, wipe with a rag, wipe again with a clean rag.

I do both the 700 and 710 anyway. It just makes me nervous to have something that can cause issues and knowingly use it. It kind of makes me want to get an electric one. I know a lot of people if not most use pneumatic though.

yes if you have good air tools they tend to work for years with no oil. anything dynabrade and i know the 3m sanders will go just about forever. my 3m sanders are probably 13 years old now, used every day hard and have never had a drop of oil. small cheaper angle grinders i will get maybe 5 years out of then when they act up i just toss them and buy another.
