Pneumatic Flange tool question.

The main reason body guys have the air Flangers is for the hole puncher on the other side. I have one with a 5/16 hole punch. I will flange the odd thing.

The trick I use for tig butt joints is I will lay the filler rod on the joint and spot tig through it. I manually pulse with the pedal. I usually use mig wire. I only fusion weld when capping tubing.

I have done some plug welds with the tig. It's more for spark controll. Multiple layers tend to blow up and get the tungsten.

I've been following this thread all day from my hospital bed. I was admitted around 11:00am this morning. Seems the old ticker went into afib. They are keeping me over night to see if the medication they gave me will pop my heart back into a regular heart beat. If not, tomorrow morning there going to paddle me. Basically kill me, then bring me back.....hopefully.

If you don't hear from me again, you'll know why.

Thanks for all the guidance and training you've all provided me during my existence on SPI. Truly one of the best website with very generous, knowledgeable, and talented people.

You have me confused with someone else. I don't make exotic tools.

But since I have your attention, aren't you from Missouri?.......I am. We should meet up, I know I would get a kick out of it.

You game?
Sure anytime, I'm just south of Cape Girardeau.

Wow! Hope everything goes well. My Mom and BIL both have had AFIB. There's a lot they can do for it nowadays. You'll be back working in the buff in no time. :) Seriously though you will be in my prayers. Feel better.

Praying for a good outcome and quick recovery. Please let us know when you are ok.

The cardioversion (paddles) is no big deal. They'll hook you up to an EKG and some other equipment and sedate you. You won't know a thing and you'll wake up a few minutes later. No pain, etc. One good thing about it is that they can tell you immediately if it brought you out of afib. No waiting a couple days for results. Some people will hold in normal rhythm and others will go back into afib later. The main thing is to take the blood thinner they put you on, and don't miss any doses. The biggest danger from afib is the formation of a clot that can break loose and cause a stroke, and the blood thinner keeps the clot from forming. Most of the time, the blood thinner is Eliquis. They formerly used warfarin (rat poison) as a blood thinner, and while it is cheap it also requires you have regular trips to the doc to check your clotting time. Eliquis doesn't require this testing. If you stay out of afib, it doesn't mean you can quit the blood thinner. Most cardiologists say you need to stay on it for at least a couple years with no recurrence of the afib before its safe to quit the blood thinner, and you only quit it if the doc says its okay.

Well if your lights at work or home went dim for a second, it wasn't because of me. The givers of life decided to post pone paddle therapy and used chemical (pills) until next Thursday to see if the heart will pop out of afib before pressing the button.

Many of you are well versed with what's ailing me and I thank you for speaking up, and to those for their well wishes. I don't want to stray away from our favorite past time, auto painting and restorations. When I posted concerning my condition, I did so out of respect for all of you, and didn't want to leave you wondering why I just vanished without sharing my soon to be completed body work and paint if something went wrong. That would be rude and selfish after all the guidenence bestowed to me here.

Going to find my build thread and update a little more progress.

Thanks fellas,
