Pistriping question

I am doing a small Ranger Pickup. Question, I want to pinstripe the Flames that will be sprayed on with a Color shifting Pearl by Alsa Paints, from the Colorfoce line. Of course this needs to be be clear coated. I have the SPI Universal clear. I want the pinstripes of the border of the flames to be under the final clear coat or at least the 1st coat. Can a regular urethane basecoat (the striping color) be applied over a color sanded clear coat border of the flames and background color of the truck the be re cleared? Can it then be clear coated again to seal it? Or I guess can a urethane basecoat be applied over a coat of Universal clear the re cleared?

Thanks

ok, your flames are all laid out and sprayed. clear them, sand the clear smooth with 400-600. pinstripe then reclear. the striping will be between 2 layers of clear.

Thanks Jim C for the reply. Also since I will be using a urethane base coat paint for the pin-striping, not One shot or a HOK pin-striping enamel, am I correct to assume that it does not have to be catalyzed like it is recommended for the One Shot and HOK striping enamels.
