Panel bond for trunk dropoff?

I'm installing new trunk dropoffs onto a recently installed trunk floor on a 74 Camaro. I planned on plug welding everything with my Mig but this flange joint is awefully tough to get to with a torch, then of course dressing the (likely sloppy) welds will suck too.

I've never used panel bonding adhesive before, but wonder if this is a good use for it. I can get plenty of clamps in this area and would plug weld the other regions. If an adhesive is a viable option, what do you recommend? 3M 3115? 3116?

Ya that is a tough one to access for plug welding. Have you considered stitch welding it from inside the trunk? Seam sealer will cover the welds.

Didn't think of that. Would be much easier, but would the flanges where the parts mate want to do something funny like flare apart etc.?

I say if you can get a clamp to them, you can weld them. I cannot see how you would get a clamp to them. Clecos I guess.

Have not been into the panel bond stuff here, I think I need to consider it seam sealer and not glue.

I can get a series on these because the area below the flange has plenty of room but on one side there is a frame rail and the other is the drop off proper that tapers in.

I am a fan of the panel adhesive if used correct you will have a rust free seam. Inside of trunk no problem of ghost lines showing up.
