Painting Steel Wheels

Hi All

Quick question. I need to paint some 54 year old steel wheels (BC/CC). Am currently using PPG DBU as BC. Would like this to be as durable as possible. Will have wheels blasted to clean metal. Can then apply a few coats of epoxy and probably fill some rust pitting and smooth the outer wheel surface. Do you all recommend using DBU (activated, of course) with Univ. Clear for this paint? I am using this for the car body and need to decide if I go this route, or simply have the wheels powder coated Argent Silver, which is the other option. I prefer the wheels in factory paint color rather than silver, if I get to choose!

Thanks much.

Pat

What is the factory paint color? I like to use single stage on wheels when possible because it's a bit tougher, but only with solid colors.

Hi Crash
I'm painting with a Mercedes Benz Arctic White. I could obtain a UTech single stage for painting the wheels. Here in Sacramento, you can pretty much get any brand paint, but all in Low VOC of course.
