painting over chromed plastic

Hey guys wasn't sure where to post this so move it if need be. If one were to want to paint plastic pieces on a vehicle that are chromed like a grill or anything of that matter what would be the proper prep? Just scuff and shoot two coats epoxy? Thanks for any input.
 
yes, the key with chrome though is scuffing it right. its usually such a hard metal that its difficult to scuff. i use a handheld blaster with this super fine crushed glass, like baby powder, and it makes the chrome look completely dull without delaminating it. makes for a great tooth. you will just have to try some different thing if doing by hand.
