I’m restoring my 1959 CJ6 and will have to make some rear floor panels that are not available commercially. I intend on using 18 ga metal. Should I be using “paint grip” metal?
You can, but the coating is meant to keep the metal from rusting while stored. I wouldn't trust it as a part of the final finish. 80 grit it off then epoxy prime.
