new to me lph400 w/silver & orange which one for base

I just purchased a used lph400 with two caps (silver and orange). Which cap should I use on black base? The tip is 1.3. I'll be using it for universal clear with the silver cap. I don't spray often enough to learn on my own or to learn from others. Thank You
 
Silver is for clear orange is for base, I would recommend 1.3 for base and 1.4 for all spi clears
 
From what I read 1.3 with silver cap is ok for clear, just have to slow down a little. Could not turn the deal down having two caps considering was not planning on getting an Iwata.
 
It doesn't matter which cap you use for a solid base. It's in the metallics that you may see a difference, and theoretically the orange cap will be superior for metallic.
