New to graphics application, need advice

I'm new to applying graphics so i would appreciate clarity on steps. my plan is ghost gray pearl suspended in intercoat clear over my black basecoat (big hood bird - Trans Am). The steps as i understand is to apply base, apply intercoat clear on entire hood surface, tape out graphic on hood, apply pearl suspended in intercoat clear, apply clear coat. Is this the correct procedure? should i be scuffing anything between coats? My only previous experience was a SS a ghost stripe on hood and bed cover of a Silverado. Were my steps correct?

Sounds exactly right, don't sand anything after the base coat. Give extra time after intercoat clear for full drying. You can leave tape marks from the stencil if done too soon. Waiting a day or so is fine.
