New entry level booth In shop - need recommendations

I have been shopping quite a bit for a new booth to install in an expanded part of the shop the will specialize in restorations. Shoot a low volume of cars but need a booth in the $10k to $12k range. Col met and marathon seem to be moving to the top of my list but looking for other recommendations you guys might have. Will be galvanized that I paint white once installed. Single phase power with a vfd preferably, semi down draft with or without plenum as I have no intentions of make up heater. Does not need fire suppression but will need all applicable nfpa, osha, etl certs as this is a business and it's required by the insurance companies and town. You guys always have great input and I could use some here, to say I'm overwhelmed on choices without any real experience in any of them is an understatement. Thanks in advance.

I think they all have the same product in the end. I almost did a Marathon years ago. During the dealings I felt good about the company. Never did anything, have just kept my homemade.

They all use LDPI lighting with the same fans and motors. Hardware is the same. I think It comes down to price and whether you think you might want more support after the deal.

Friend bought an autobody tool mart booth when they had free shipping and he likes it. The price was right if you catch a free shipping or door upgrade.

Upgrade a few more lights would probably be money well spent. If you go VFD then you can save a buck and get the 3phase motor. The vfd will do the conversion to run a 3phase motor.

you probably need to double check the fire suppression if its inside a shop. That added 2500-3000 to my price if I installed it with the fire bottles..

my booth is an autobody tool mart booth. it serves its purpose but i wouldnt buy one again. its functional only. the manufacturing is crap on it. spend the extra grand or two to have one made better quality that is all nut and bolt construction instead of just something that is zip screwed together.

check out these booths. they are very nice. i have been in one and the lower end ones arent that more $ than what i have. even global has a lower end line that is reasonable.

The Fire Suppression would definitely be a cost adder as I initially thought it would be required. However, the Insurance has agreed to waive it because of the new booth, new steel building construction, and high liability limits. Also because I own the property and do not lease them.

Of all the manufacturers that I have talked with at this level I agree that the marathon guys seem more knowledgeable and helpful. Hence why I have leaned that way and away from the col-met sold by auto body toolmart. They just cant answer my questions or provide real support. The low end global is just a bit out of price range, i need to draw the line somewhere and those have been closer to $20K, too much for me to justify. I will give these sprayzone guys a call and see what they have to say. I need a rear plenum modified downdraft, have to see if they offer one, because of the building construction I cant use a side plenum.

Thanks

Let us know what you come up with, One day i may be shopping for one and I would need the same style booth. I have no room for side either.

I have some advice if you get a rear downdraft make sure on the length they are selling you usable space my booth was 20 inches shy on length of what I thought I was getting due to exhaust plenum just thought I'd let you know cause I didn't think about it till it was too late
