Jim, so what's your finding on the new sandpapers that you've been trying? I need to replace some of my Kovax stuff.

Not sure what Jim C. found.
But I've been doing testing for my (soon to be launched) sanding blocks.

Biggest issue I was trying to resolve was residue left on polycarbonate.

Cheap paper all leave residue that is hard to clean off. Dura Gold is the worst.

"Premium" paper does not leave residue. And sands better and lasts longer, IMO.

I found 3M, Sunmight and Mirka to be pretty much equal in all regards.
And prices vary wildly, depending on where it is ordered from.

All my testing was PSA rolls, stick on, not discs.

Been using Sunmight for awhile now 80grt da stick-it and it cuts fast and has sharp grit but it can dull quickly once it hits metal. The 3m green is still hard to beat for lasting the longest IMO.

As I recall, he was testing more of the finishing grits.

i pretty much went all sunmight across the board. green film discs from 180 on up to 600 then the finishing film in 1000 and 1500. tried the 3000sc foam discs those are great as well. actually i have found nothing not to like about any of it. lasts longer and cheaper. i am now completely off of the eagle yellow film. i do still use eagle blue bufflex and some of the brown assilex sheets for hand sanding and peach assilex discs if i want to do 1500 wet.

Didn't you mention a good source for these products?

I bought some of the 120 and 220 in the ceramic and its really nice. as supplies run out I will probably keep replacing it with more.

I'm not a huge fan of the sunmight long board paper though. I usually use the 3M blue and recently I tried the Norton 296 line I believe it's their gold version and its pretty nice.
