gun tip size

Hi, looking for a new gun and a lot of guns come with tips in the 1.3, 1.5, 1.8 range. Barry recommends a 1.4 on a lot of his clears. Would it make more sense to use a 1.5 tip than go down a size to a 1.3?

Here is the gig with paint guns.. Not all tip sizes are created equal.. Just becuase say Sharpe calls theirs a 1.5... Its really more like a 1.4 on a Sata etc etc etc... I would go with the 1.5 myself since you can choke it down a touch if it needs it, however if you go with too small a tip it can cause allot of problems.. For one you will over atomize the clear and blow more in the air than what you put on the vehicle.. You could end up with solvent pop in hot climate like the South where i live etc etc etc..

I would recommend 1 gun for your 2k primers and polyester primers if you shoot them.. Then 1 gun for your sealer, base and clear.. That is about as cheap as I personally would go..
Now can you use 1 gun to do it all.. ABSOLUTELY.. I was simply making a suggestion is all

Happy spraying
