What do you guys use for pouring out paint/primer from a gallon of paint ?? I used to have plastic lids with spouts on them for the gallon cans and cant seem to find them anymore.

I do the same thing I do for my quart can pouring, except
I use 2" tape for the gallon size can.
You have to keep the rim clean for this to work.

For the integral mixing lid shown two posts above, it seems like they'd waste paint and need lots of cleaning, or am I overthinking how much paint will stay on the "beater" and shaft and in the pour slot?

I only transfer them to the same product that they start on. I have never cleaned the inside for over 30 years with no issues. They seal perfect as long as you don't drop them. I have over 100 cans with these.

I knew there had to be a use for 2" tape :)
I noticed at the local jobber that the 2" tape bin is always full - none taken and the 1 1/2" and 3/4" are half full. I asked the counter guy about it and he said "no one ever buys the 2", don't even know why we stock it.

I’ve tried the tape and it always works like garbage for me. The spouts that snap to the rim are far and away the best and easiest method. Just wipe it down with a paper towel before taking it off and then a quick wipe with lacquer thinner to clean. Can be used on quart cans as well.

They’re on Amazon.

I've used those little snap on lids in the past and they always worked nice. I used tape now because I always forgot to get more when I was at the store, but now its in my brain so I'll remember to pick some up.

tape works, but can get messy real quick!

i keep lids and clean them. put the screws in and have a great pour spout. i keep one on my epoxy for mixing small amounts.

It's what every mixing bank uses. You don't clean them you leave the lid on there.

I use a 1 cup stainless steel cup and scoop it out until it's manageable for pouring. Lacquer thinner soaked rag cleans up the cup easy
