Fresh Air System

The flip vue is light weight, not incredibly great quality but perfectly adequate and light. Optically it is way better than the Hobby Air hood. Adaptation was easy. First I used the HA hose since it is higher quality than the SAS hose, but the extra weight of the rubber hose wasn't good, so I went back to the SAS hose - cheaper quality but lighter and used the HA air fitting and a hose clamp. Works great.

Call me a cheap fart, I use the 3 stage hvlp turbine air pump and a supplied air hood. Adds another use for the hvlp that sets in the cabinet when it is not being used to paint cabinets, lol. I run and extra 25 feet of hose coiled in a bucket with a light flow of water to the bucket to cool the air. I like cool air in my face and this works great.

Is a three stage hvlp turbine air pump something other than the pumps that normally supply air to supplied air masks?

No it isn't, might have a different max psi output but I dont know. I already had it, it has filters for both the blower motor and the supplied air inlet, charcoal filters are available. I am happy with how it works for its intended purpose as well as my hack use. I see them in pawn shops now and then and think $50-75 should buy one that is repurposable .

I'm also just a hobbiest, but I use the Sata Vision 2000 hood in combination with a dedicated oil-less compressor. I've been very pleased with it. When I wore a face mask I never got a good seal due to my beard, where with the hood, the beard doesn't matter. I've had oral cancer twice before buying this hood, not that it was necessarily related, but I'm not taking any chances any more.
