Floor jacks- why do they leak down?

I'm thinking the combo of cheap rubber & kerosine fluid (was made in u know where) is the problem.
I used scissor jack twice since starting thread. Don't leak down a millimeter. Raised it with cordless impact gun.
Shine, i suppose even good rubber gets tired over the yrs. Dirt don't help non either. Part of life.
