First time painter. Sprayed epoxy today.

Looks very nice. Love the project. You don't see those trucks anymore.

The spi epoxy is great. Sands great also.

Good job! Truck looks pretty straight. What color are you going to paint it? Is the interior and exterior going to be different color, reason for different primer colors?

It's going to he the original red metallic and white two tone. I'm doing the jambs because it had some rust in the rockers and Ireplaced the rear doors. So the inside will match but not be as shiny as the outside and jambs. Should look just fine.

Here it is this morning. Pretty happy with how it turned out. One of the nice things about the epoxy is it dries glossy so when you sand it it's like a built in guide coat.

I have started putting filler on. I pretty much applied it everywhere around the truck where it needs it and now going around blocking it all. I'm fairly confident that I should have the filler and blocking done by the end of the week so hopefully another round of epoxy this weekend. Still debating if I want to bother with the 2k or not. Lots of folks that use this epoxy skip the 2k since the epoxy Sands so well. I think I'll base that decision on how it looks after this round of epoxy. If it looks kinda meh, I'll 2k it. If it looks decent, I'll stick with epoxy. With that, color and clear should only be 2-3 weeks away!

3 coats of epoxy with a 1.5 followed by 180 block and all of your body filler rings and minor imperfections are gone. Not gonna take out a bunch of waves or factory stamp lumps but it can help blend them.

That will be a neat truck. You don't see 4 doors of that era very often.

Are you saying you do the initial two coats over the bare metal, apply filler, block filler, 3 more coats of epoxy and block that with 180?
