Filler over 1 coat of epoxy instead of 2

I have 1 coat on the bare metal and over a round of filler. Not 2 coats because I ran the 1st coat
The metal and filler both sanded with 80 before applying en1 coat

I need to add filler and I'm out of 7 day recoat window.

Will filler stick to 1 coat of epoxy outside of the recoat window scuffed with 180 on the primer. The base filler still has 80 scratches in it.

Filler will adhere to cured epoxy if you sand it good, people do it all the time. There is better adhesion though if you do it during the recoat window. Try to finish your bodyfiller off in 180grit or finer before priming.

It's fine to do what you want unless the epoxy is, say, over 30 days old. But outside the 7 day window it works really well to scratch it up and apply filler, it's done all the time as Bob says. But outside of a month or so, we always block and reprime with epoxy before doing ANYTHING else.
