Epoxy coverage, app. sq. footage

I'm trying to guesstimate how much epoxy to mix (1:1) to get a coat on trailer panels. The panels come to a total of 133 sq. ft. I will know after I spray it but would rather not stop mid panel to mix another quart or so and have to let it induce at least the min. 30 minutes. I have in the past mixed up way too much and wasted the product.

I painted an entire camper so got real good at the math. Mix up 2 quarts and that will get at least one coat on without running out. After that you have 30 min until your second coat and can let the next batch induce during then.

You’ll know how much more to mix up based on how much you used.

Two quarts sounds like a good start. It is going to need two coats of epoxy anyway, the panels are kind of rough.
Nothing fancy here but the paint will freshen up an otherwise nice older motorcycle trailer.

Another option is to mix up just 2 ounces of epoxy. Then spray a vertical panel until you run out of paint. Measure the square feet you were able to cover and divide by 2. This will give you the ounces per square foot of epoxy you will need based upon your spray gun, settings and technique.

Pretty smart idea. That would cover both types of spray painters, slow and fast, and heavy and lite.

No two painters spray the same so your method is very good for the truest estimation per individual.
