door and fender stands

here are a couple of stands that really make life alot easier for prep and paint.Rear fenders are a mirror image so they are through bolted.
For the doors I used the factory hinges to make a template, then bolted tabs to doors and welded tabs to post. 2012-09-20_16-34-20_282.jpg

Very nice. Stands are well worth the time it takes to make them. Good setup makes painting go so much better.
I made some adjustable stands for motorcyle parts after many years of jury rigging and time wasted. Since that they proved very handy for other parts. Nothing worse than dropping a part on the last coat of clear, don't ask me how I know that:eek:.

After seeing that stand I made one for my rear fenders that bolts to my engine stand. Thanks for the inspiration.

Nice i noticed chevman did a door holder on an engine stand.

Yeah I made one of those too, used an old fire wood stand/holder for the arms and pool floaties for the cushions... For the floor jack. The fender stand mounts to the engine stand and just happens to fit the bumper cover I'm working on now.
These tool ideas make a big difference in how the job turns out I thnk. At least I see them improving my work.
And I get WAY better advice and ideas here than any of those car shows.
