clear coat da

tired of hand sanding clear coat and want to get a dedicated da for color sanding. thinking about profinisher by hutchins. need to know some thoughts on which orbit would be best. 3/32 pattern or 3/16 pattern. never used da for color sanding so all ideas will be greatly appreciated

Either will work but 3/16 will cut faster. Years ago I did a test when I was using the Abralon pads on everything and the 3/16 orbit cut much faster than 3/32 and still produced the same finished results-there were no downsides.

Totally agree. The 3/32 is a waste. Even 3m recommends 3/16 for everything. After using a 3/16 for 10 years i tried a 3/32. Used it 2-3 times and sold it.
