I bought this 80 camaro with some paint flaws. I’m not sure if it is Lacquer or base coat clear but not sure if it matters. I’m looking for advise and best products to use.

From what I see in the pics you need to strip it. Strip it, apply epoxy (SPI) to the bare metal and fiberglass (hood?). Then proceed. A modern quality job would include stripping to bare metal, then epoxy over bare metal, any filler work done over the epoxy, then more epoxy to cover your filler work. Then either more epoxy or a filler primer like polyester or 2K urethane. Block it out then proceed with either a base/clear or Single Stage Urethane. Metallic will generally be a base/clear, solid colors can be either one.

Do some reading here on the forum to get an idea of what's involved and what to do. Lots of knowledge here on the forum. Lots of good correct information here. Read some threads, do some searches. Ask specific questions and we will try to help.

The clear is delaminating. Anything you try short of stripping as Chris said will be very short lived. You could brush some clear into the bubbled areas to try to seal them a little, but it would look bad and fail to really solve anything.

Besides the knowledge base you've come across on the SPI forum, you also found many of the products you're going to need right here. For paint you're going to need...........

1. SPI Epoxy primer
2. SPI Turbo primer
3. SPI Black base coat
4. SPI Euro clear coat
5. https://blackdiamondblocks.com/

The above assumes that you already have all the equipment, i.e. air compressor, spray guns, regulators, filters, water separators, air hoses, safety items, etc. to actually spray paint.

Valid point,

Teaching someone what products to use, or protocols of paint prep, are futile if one doesn't have the equipment to use with knowledge learned.

The good part is most of that equipment can be found at Harbor Freight :).................... (68 Coronet rolls eyes ), lol
