Adhesion Promoter on bed liner?

Would there be any advantage to spraying adhesion promoter on an an old bed liner before spraying new raptor liner?
Thanks in advance.

If it's a plastic bed liner, then yes. If it's sprayed on bed liner, no. just clean it with dawn very well, then sand with 80 grit and spray the Raptor.

Have you tried contacting Raptor? Some systems require a pretreatment when respraying over existing bedliner, though I do not know a lot about it. I'm pretty sure it would not be SPI adpro.

Whatever they put in raptor is from another planet.i don't think anything will destroy it other than air chisel or tiger discs. I've sprayed it over stuff without any prep and it sticks

The current liner is a year old Rustoleum roll/brush on. I have done the prep work, cleaning & sanding, etc. I will go ahead and spray over the liner with confidence. Thanks everyone for the response!

The word "Rustoleum" always makes me nervous, but is should be a urethane liner from them, so you will be fine. If it turns out to be one of their fish oil products, then good luck with that.

It was applied to thin in some areas and has chipped in others. There is a 3/8s inch thick steel plate 2'x2' welded in the bed for the fifth wheel hitch that has rusted thru the liner. It's not too bad but it bugs me. I have removed as much of the rust as possible and am going to use epoxy primer over the plate, then spray Raptor. I want a more professional uniform finish than whats on there now.

If you are confident that the old bedliner has cured and is not solvent reversible, I think sanding with a relatively coarse grit and a coat of epoxy primer would make an excellent base for the second application of bedliner. That's probably what I would do, anyway. That and maybe wait overnight after the epoxy.

I got too many hits on "Raptor" to read through them during a work day. Certainly 48 hours would a very safe answer. Maybe @Barry can confirm what the minimum recoat time should be?

The bedIiner is definitely cured. I like the idea of epoxy over the entire old liner. I am a day or 2 away from spraying the epoxy so I will wait to hear about the cure time.
