A little trash in Epoxy

Chevynutz

Slow old timer
Reblocked the car with Black diamond blocks and 180 grit with 1 coat of epoxy before thunderstorm hit. I have a little trash i need to remove before i shoot again tomorrow morning whats the best advice here ? I have 320 600 800 1000 1500 grit paper. # 2 The sun came back out is it best to put car in the sun or leave in shaded garage ? #3 Epoxy laid down pretty good except a few dry spots where i didn't overlap enough, what grit do you start sanding with for base ? I know finish 400 solid 600 metallic Thanks Greg

Is that your final seal coat then? If base is the next step, then wet sand 600. I do that whether solid or metallic.

Then get your base on within the 7 day cure window.

Not final seal coat, just wondered what grit to knock the nibs down with. Guess i will use 180 .

Since you are within the 7 day window, you could use 320 to knock down the dust nibs before your respray. However, if you have it out in the sun for long that will affect/shorten that window. Since you only sprayed one coat, I would not put it in the sun before I sprayed the remaining costs of epoxy.

Be aware that in the sun the windows all reduce by about a factor of 4. For every hour in the sun equals about 4 hours in the garage for cure times. You only have 3-4 days window if it he car is outside.
