My first attempt at working with plastic bumpers.
Here's the damaged front bumper:

Still have to reinstall the front bumper and then this ones going home.

Thanks to all who gave me guidance and advice through this project. Thanks to Chad for providing me with a perfect color match in ProSpray.
And of course thanks to Barry and the crew for great primers and clear.

Great Work! Looks perfect.

What did you use for the plastic repair? I have had the best luck with SEM products.

Looks like you are doing about what I am. . .taking a hobby and helping people out.

Keep it up, pearl matches are not the easiest thing for me to do and you knocked it out.

Thanks. I didn't use any of the standard plastic repair kits. Instead I used my 45 watt soldering iron and my wife's (don't tell her) hair drier. Basically warmed the plastic up until it began to relax some (heat gun would have been better) and worked everything back into place. Then using the soldering iron which has pointed tip on it I made a "V" grove down the center of the crack and then began to weld the two pieces together using another piece of TPO for welding material. Just puddled and then smoothed it out with the soldering iron. Once it cooled I tried to flex it back and forth to make it crack but it held perfectly.

Looks great!

Took a gamble with the wifes hair dryer. I'm sure if she found out, those bumpers would be the least of your worries. LOL!

I have "welded" some plastic material on motorcycle farings. . seemed to hold well. I was not always as successful with some of the other plastic pieces on cars though.
