2k flash time confusion......

confused about regular 2k flash time. Perfect paint job says 30 mins. Tech sheet say 3-5 mins depending on temps. Tech sheet also says pot life is 45-60 mins.

I can wait 30mins but need to be careful not to mix more than 2 coats worth of paint due to pot life. I can mix what I need as I go along coat by coat but just want to be sure. Maybe tech sheet needs to be corrected or I mis-read something?

I would rather ask the dumb ? now than sand it off and repaint later.

If you're looking for the best results and least chance of having any shrinkage problems-give it 30 minutes flash time between coats (perfect paint job)

If you're doing production work in a collision shop give it 3-5 minutes between coats, wait 20 minutes, bake it for 20 minutes, cool it, sand it, paint it, and cross your fingers that no solvents were trapped and shrinkage won't show any sandscratches 30 days later-chances are it will be fine, maybe, we'll see.....

i have been doing 10-15 depending on panel temp.

Shrinkage is normal but a lot better than other brands of Primer!
