Just finished spraying this one. This was a special order petty blue color in 1966. Not 100% postitive but I think is a 1 of 1.

Wanda? Looks bright! I bet the factory had 3 painters shooting that car when it went down the assembly line.

Jeremy,

Looks great. I do have question about your frame jig. With the car being a uni-body and the jig bolted at the front most of the car does the door gaps move?

The reason I ask I'm working a on a 59 Tbird and getting ready to dis-assemble the front suspension and would like to do the same thing, but I didn't know if would cause issues with the door rubbing. I did a camaro years ago and everytime I would jack it up by the rad support the door gap would close. If I jacked it up under the front a-arm it would be fine.

They don't move on these cars really. If they do, it isn't enough to tell...never had an issue. Reason why those camaros move is because the subframe bolts in, with only 4 bolts. These mopars are pretty stiff. The rear dolly mounts into the front leafspring mount, and the front on the bumper mounts. Although I've seen others bolt them through the k-frame mounts under the a-arms, but really doesn't make a difference IMO.

Done with Wanda, Bob. 3 coats of universal. We found some original paint on the wiring harness cover attatched to the floor right inside the door jamb. It is no where close to what most people use as petty blue these days. Had to do a custom mix. Covered in 2 coats..I was quite amazed...easy color for coverage, but none the less!

sent her down the road today.

Will post more pics when they are done with the restoration.

Here it is after they finished it up. The took it to the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals and was featured inside the "showroom" along with more Richard Petty themed cars. Wish I could have gone but too busy here at the shop!
