Since our local Backyard Hack wants to see a build thread on my Caddy, I thought I’d honor said Hack’s request since he’s free with his great work and knowledge.
This car is a long term project. The kind that makes me question my sanity. So much of the car is excellent, while the outside has suffered from negligence and some poor dog that was tied to the car and relieved himself on the drivers quarter. Low mileage, with a rebuilt motor from 1973. All the original paperwork was still in the car when I got it home. Most all electrics worked fine. The last owner died and the car sat, for 45+ years.
I have two sons that were supposed to help me on this. One moved 100 miles away, and one developed health issues. So it’s on me. Many years ago I owned a restoration shop, so I have a few skills left. Painting was always secondary to me, mostly being a body guy. Which led me here to SPI for paint info.
I’ll post when I can, but I’ll start out with things I’ve already done.
