I was reading the TDS for Automotive Arts Motocryl SS paint and it calls for 1.5 to 2 coats of paint. can someone shed some light on this for me? How do I get a half a coat

Just had some Motocryl delivered yesterday. Video is well worth watching.
Thanks DanG & MJM

Keep in mind these types of videos are geared toward collision repair. This technique applies when you are trying to use the absolute minimum amount of materials (collision repair) with a piss thin layer of paint. It doesn't really apply if you are trying to do a quality long lasting paint job. It has no application in restoration work or anything high quality long lasting. In Europe they can get away with this due to the lower temps and less intense sunlight. In places here in the US, this minimum amount of clear would die in just a few years.

Chris,
What I got from the video was how to shoot the first coat of clear.

I will be shooting a solid white single stage hopefully a couple weeks from now. My intent is 3 coats over epoxy as a sealer, sand & two more coats then cut & buff. I thought the way he applied the first coat moving fast may be a good approach for minimum peel.
