Would you use it?

Just came across about a half gallon of each - gray epoxy and epoxy activator. The primer is dated
07 o1 10 and the activator is dated 9 27 10 so they are over seven years old. They have always been inside a temperature controlled area.
Are they safe to use on customers cars? I am very hesitant to take that chance without a more informed opinion. Thanks

Open the gray epoxy and stir it thoroughly to make sure is not ruined by settling.

After that the only option is to open the activator and do some spray outs.

Hope Barry will give you a definitive answer compared to my 'guessing'.

I'd test it on a scrap piece, it's the only way to know. If anything, you might need a new activator.

generally i havent seen epoxy of any type go bad from age. i have used some that have been sitting in a can for 15 years and it worked great. the activators usually turn very dark amber or red but it doesnt effect how it works. i would bet 99% that if you put the epoxy on a shaker so its completely mixed that you will be ok with it but i would still wait for barry to chime in on this since its his epoxy and he knows the specifics of his product.

If you can mix the epoxy up good its fine, the activator-like said above don't chance it at all as the best you could hope for would be a very weak cure.

Thanks for the replies, fellas. The epoxy mixes up just fine but don't want to risk using the activator now.
These products were left over from a job that the customer insisted on providing the materials, which worked out ok since he only purchased what I requested. I wrote his name on everything
he bought so I would only use his stuff on his car. He sold the car before it was finished (another story) so I just packed up his materials assuming he would want them back to give to the new owner.
It was boxed up and placed in a corner of our utility room. Then we both forgot about it. I found it yesterday while looking for something else.
